Much of my work focuses on the expression of individuals in their own particular place, at any particular time. People divulge the most intimate expressions of their inner self when they are least aware of the observant eye of others. I seek out those moments, in an attempt to capture and then portray them, not necessarily to expose a full expression of a whole person, but in an attempt to expose and express a singular moment of bare expression with which others can relate. Tension. Happiness. Tenacity. And repose. I seek out individual expression, and work to depict it - not just out of a desire to capture the likeness of a character, but to make accessible the imagery of our own characters that similarly expressed, are often veiled behind the countering words and actions we use to disguise our true selves.
